IIT-Jaipur to be set with the support of France


IIT-Jaipur to be set with the support of FranceMumbai: The Indian Institute of Technology - Jaipur (IIT-J), will be set with the support of French government. IIT-J will cater to the study of aeronautical engineering and energy research, said representative of French President.

IIT-J will be getting support from various French companies, which even comprise of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) i.e. the parent company of aircraft manufacturer Airbus, avers Jacques Valade, special representative to Nicolas Sarkozy and ambassador-at-large in charge of decentralized co-operation in Asia.

"To create a new Technical institute together is the communal dream of both Indian and French governments," added Valade.

"It is not yet confirmed whether Jaipur will be the site for the new IIT in Rajasthan by the Ministry of Human Resource Department, but the final say will be by the Indian govt." said Valade.

"The main purpose of the new IIT will be to study Aeronautical Engineering. EADS had confirmed earlier that it would be lending its proficiency in emerging the institute at Jaipur. The pivotal role by the French government will be to get in French companies to help in the development of the institute and may not help financially," asserted Valade.

"The idea is at the inception stage and the details are yet to be finalized. To promote cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries, the French government will organise a festival in December called 'Bonjour India,' inviting French designers, singers, painters and sculptors to perform in a number of cities," Mr. Valade said.
